Work in Orphanage Volunteers – Sri Lanka offer perfect option for dedicated volunteers who would like to donate their time, energy and love , in service to the less fortunate homeless children living in orphanages in Sri Lanka. Most of the orphanages in Sri Lanka are run by community societies and some are by the Government. Due to financial constraints staff are minimal. There fore the institutions are not provided with the necessary resources to optimize the children care. The children do not receive the same attention and personal care that a child would who is growing with his or her parents. To become a volunteer in an orphanage will undoubtedly be a life – changing experience. You will be getting to give your love and attention to children who most desperately need it. Most of Sri Lanka orphanages are crowded with helpless children. As a volunteer in a orphanage you will be able to be close to their hearts , helping and guide them in proper direction - giving them a future that they never expected before. FROM an Ex Volunteer “ What have I gotten myself into ?” However after I recovered from the initial cultural shock, I was able to appreciate the warmth of hearts of those who made my stay in Sri Lanka an experience I will never forget. Although the children and staff at the orphanage were absolutely amazing as well. I will never forget the kindness , laughter, love and happiness that I experienced at the orphanage. I will forever remember each and every child who opened their arms and heart to me . It was heartbreaking to leave the children, but I hope to return in the future.
