Pre School Teachers In Rural villages
In Sri Lanka most these of the rural
pre schools are managed by Rural community based groups
or by rural women with midlevel education.
The Kids attending these Pre schools are coming from
socially disadvantaged families and these pre schools
lack of basic facilities to operate as a educational
unit and quality of education also poor.
Most of these pre school teachers are not having
sufficient knowledge of early childhood care and
education. But less fortunate parents having no other
option to provide pre school education for their kids
other than sending their children to these poor pre
schools.
Young volunteers can provide some critical and
invaluable insights which significantly contribute
towards facilitating a systemic change in the existing
educational model of poor rural pre schools in Sri Lanka
during their short stay in the island.
